Vacancy Board Member:

    
The Board of Supervisors is currently seeking a volunteer to serve on the Vacancy Board.

     If the electors of any township fail to choose a supervisor, tax collector, auditor or assessor or if any person elected to any office fails to serve in the office or if a vacancy occurs in the office by death, resignation, removal from the township or otherwise, the board of supervisors may appoint a successor who is an elector of the township and has resided in that township continuously for at least one year prior to their appointment, and, upon failure to make the appointment within thirty days after the vacancy occurs, the vacancy shall be filled within fifteen additional days by the vacancy board.

     The vacancy board shall consist of the board of supervisors and one elector of the township, who shall be appointed by the board of supervisors.

Representative for MA & PA Community Greenway

     The Board of Supervisors is currently seeking a volunteer to serve as a representative of Chanceford Township at MA & PA Community Greenway Committee meetings.
     The MA & PA Community Greenway Committee is working to build a hiking and biking trail from Felton Borough to Mt. Rose Avenue in Spring Garden Township, and at some point in the future possibly connect to the York Heritage Rail Trail.
     At this point the Committee is in the process of conducting a Feasibility Study to explore the construction and maintenance costs, rights of way issues, current land use, zoning, public opinion, legal status, viable connections, future funding, and ownership.
     The representative will attend the MA & PA Community Greenway meetings and then report back to the Board of Supervisors with the progress and current status of the project.

Susquehanna Senior Center

     Susquehanna Senior Center located on the lower level of the Lower Windsor Township building offers many services to those over 60 years of age. The following are programs available free of charge:  Tuesdays 9-10 fitness classes ; 5 pm Yoga;  Wednesday 10:30-11:30 Line Dance Class;  Thursdays 9 Chorus , 9-10 Fitness Classes, 7-11pm Pick N Parlor  .  Every 1st Friday of the month free blood pressure checks. 
     The center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30-2:30, free hot lunch at 11:30, pre-registration required.  Programs vary daily.  There are trips, health topics, learning experiences, indoor walking track and peer interactions to keep everyone busy.  We are always looking for Home Delivered Meal Drivers, to deliver meals to seniors who are shut - ins in the community.

Road Repairs in Chanceford Township

 

Part-Time Road Laborers Needed

     Chanceford Township is seeking to hire a part-time road laborer. Applicants must be CDL licensed or willing to obtain a CDL license within 60 days. Experience in operating road graders, back hoes, rubber tire loaders, road mowers, and snow plow trucks is helpful, but on the job training is available. Applicants should be proficient in operating at least one of the above listed equipment. A pre-employment driving test and physical is required. Send resume to Chanceford Township, P.O. Professional Firefighters' Union

Residents please note: The Professional Firefighters' Union has been calling residents of Chanceford Township and trying to solicit funds, claiming that the money will be distributed to local fire companies. This is false information. The money raised goes to support the Professional Firefighters' Union and not local fire companies.


Girl's Softball Registration
